Minuet in A Major

Boccherini's Minuet in A Major is one of the most famous movements of the Classical era, taken from the String Quintet in E Major, Op. 11 No. 5. Although originally written for string quintet, the graceful minuet soon gained a life of its own through countless arrangements for piano and many other instruments. Today, it is widely regarded as the composer's signature work and one of the best-known examples of eighteenth-century chamber music.

The movement is distinguished by its elegant, courtly melody, balanced phrasing, and refined Classical style.
