How we got here

The wish
Niklas picked up the piano as an adult and wanted to play the classical themes he loved. What he found was either far too hard, badly scanned, or locked inside a player he was only renting.

The favour
Dominik already played. So he started writing arrangements by hand — the same piece, reworked honestly until a beginner could sit down and actually play it.

The little site
Niklas builds websites for a living. He put the PDFs on a tiny private site so he could pull them up on his tablet at the piano. That was the whole plan.

Friends saw them. Then friends of friends. The same question kept coming back: where do I get these? There was nowhere to send them.

Pianisso is that answer, built properly. Hand-arranged classical music at the level you’re actually at — yours the moment you buy it.
The longer version
We’re two people. That’s not a humble brag or a launch-day pose — it’s the truth, and it shapes everything about how Pianisso works. Niklas writes the code. Dominik writes the music. Between us we make every arrangement, answer every email, and read every note people send back.
The frustration that started it is one a lot of players know. You fall for a piece — a nocturne, a film theme, a bit of Shostakovich — and you go looking for the sheet music. What turns up is written for someone who’s already played for fifteen years. Or it’s a grey photocopy of a photocopy. Or it lives inside an app that lets you look but never keep.
Dominik’s first arrangements weren’t a product. They were a favour. He’d take a piece Niklas wanted and rework it honestly — not a watered-down cover, but a real reduction that keeps what makes the piece itself, written so a hand that’s still learning can reach it.
When other people started asking for the same thing, we realised the favour could scale — not by churning out thousands of files, but by doing the slow part well: arranging music by hand, grading it across skill levels, keeping the editions clean. Same piece, your level — from a first-year Starter version up to the full Professional score.
Closeness is a feature. We’d rather stay small and answer your email than grow into something that can’t.
So that’s the promise. Every score is arranged by a person, not a machine. The PDF is yours to keep — no rental, no expiry, no watermark counting down.
