The Hunter's Chorus ("Was gleicht wohl auf Erden dem Jägervergnügen") is one of the most famous numbers from Carl Maria von Weber's opera Der Freischütz. Premiered in 1821, the opera is widely regarded as the first great German Romantic opera, combining folklore, nature, and supernatural elements with a distinctly national musical style. The chorus appears in the third act, celebrating the camaraderie and traditions of the hunters before the story reaches its dramatic conclusion.

Marked by its bold, march-like rhythm and memorable melody, the piece evokes the excitement of the hunt and the grandeur of the forest. Brilliant choral writing and festive brass fanfares create an atmosphere of confidence and celebration, making it a favorite both in the concert hall and in arrangements for piano and other instruments. Its spirited character and instantly recognizable themes have secured its place as one of Weber's best-loved compositions.
